How add/edit the Yoast SEO Plugin
On the backend of the page or post that you would like to edit, scroll down near the bottom of the page and locate the Yoast SEO section.
The Snippet Preview allows you view your page as it would display as a search result on a Search Engines Results Page (SERP). There are three key areas to edit in this section:
- SEO Title
- Meta description
- Focus keyword
SEO title (65 character limit): This is the page title that will display on the SERPs. Title tags should include your primary keywords and be unique for every page. These tell search engines what the page is about and that the page is relevant to that keyword or keyword phrase.
Meta description (156 character limit): Meta descriptions are important in getting users to click through from the search engine results page (SERP) to your website. Much like title tags, meta descriptions will highlight keywords that the user searched for, increasing the likelihood of the user clicking through to your website.
Focus keyword: After you’ve done some keyword research (using Google Search, Google Trends or Google Adwords), include specific keyword phrases, rather than singular keywords on your page. Never duplicate focus keywords on multiple pages — each page should have its own unique focus keyword or phrase.
Tip: To follow SEO and accessibility best practices, make sure to include a descriptive title, description, and alt text for your images and files. Use dashes between each word.
