We’re making enhancements to the Courses page on Arts CMS, based on feedback gathered from users across the Faculty of Arts.
The updates aim to help users navigate your courses and find additional information, such as section details, more easily. These changes are anticipated to roll out by August 5, 2025.
Public notes from Workday automatically displayed
Course listings will automatically sync and display any available course notes from Workday under section details. Public notes are descriptions that are manually entered into Workday to provide additional information about a course. On the Courses page, public notes will be displayed under section details when expanded.
With public notes integrated, you will no longer need to add additional information to course descriptions, and users can find more details about available sections.
Review your public notes on Workday
For example, you may want to remove location details so that they are not public, as well as update the content to your desired formatting.
If you have any concerns about displaying this information publicly, please contact arts.helpdesk@ubc.ca.
Expand and collapse all results
Users will also have the option to expand or collapse all results so that they can preview course information at a glance and easily find section details, course descriptions, and other information.
Filter by the latest available academic term by default
When first visiting the Courses page, courses are now filtered by the latest available academic term that you’ve synched for your website. By default, users will immediately see the latest available courses, assisting them when preparing for course registration.
Users can still adjust the filter to view courses from the current or previous academic term.
